The GetRotary.org Update

Being the “New Kid” on the DG block, I had a short opportunity to meet PDG Ray Wirth
and spend time with him and his wife Rosie. Ray was a man of few words,
but could make his point quickly, and had a great sense of humor. This
mixture of traits made him very unique, and I have never met anyone that

Arroyo Grande Rotary Club
President Janet Wood emailed me and asked if I wouldn’t mind “going
casual” for my official visit to her club. “I can do casual! but don’t
tell RI!”
Well, when I arrived I was greeted with a beautiful park setting with
picnic tables, chairs, and the Arroyo Grande Bandstand in the background
set up for our board meeting, all on a beautiful sunny summer day!

Roxanne and I had a great time floating around Lake Westlake, thanks to President Gloria Rocca and the members of the Westlake Village Club.
With three boats awaiting us, Gloria selected Bill Notthoff’s boat for

With the new direction of the Grants Committee to set their priority on
getting ALL grants submitted approved, we have gone through our District
Simplified Grant Funds (nearly $60,000 in District Designated Funds) in
record time. We actually ran out on August 25th, or in less than 2
months! I am very pleased to say that there were a number of clubs that
wrote grants for the first time and we are pleased to see you taking
